Our Type IIIA plate exceeds NIJ standards for soft body armor and provides protection from handgun and shotgun rounds in a hard armor form. This ultralight standalone plate is multi-curve for a comfortable fit. Type IIIA plates are not intended to defeat a rifle threat.
